Air India tragedy fallout: DGCA directs airlines to inspect fuel switches in Boeings

Following a recent Air India crash, India's DGCA has ordered airlines to inspect fuel control switch locking mechanisms on certain Boeing aircraft, including 737s and 787 Dreamliners, by July 21. This directive mirrors actions by regulators in other countries and follows a 2018 FAA bulletin. Air India has already checked half its Dreamliner fleet, finding no issues.
