Prior to this role, Kumar served as Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), where he oversaw the Aadhaar ecosystem—one of the world’s largest digital identity programmes. He concurrently held the position of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and has previously served as Joint Secretary in the same ministry.
